53
year old Canadian Astronaut, Chris Hadfield, showed his hockey spirit and
loyalty by wearing his Toronto Maple Leafs tee on his final day in space. The
ultra-cool Commander has been living aboard the International Space Station for
five months.
Known better for his "SpaceOddity" video on YouTube, we appreciate his love of hockey even more! His video
went up on Sunday and has been viewed on YouTube more than 2.7 million times. The
YouTube hit caps off an orbital tour of duty during which Hadfield sent down thousands of pictures via his Twitter
account, performed the first original song
recorded on the space station, mixed it up with "Star Trek" icon William Shatner, and unveiled Canada's new $5 bill. For the past two months, he was doing
all this while serving as the station's first Canadian commander.
While I wish Commander
Hadfield much success and happiness in his next endeavor, I selfishly look
forward to his tweets and hockey fanatics!
Thank you for your
service, Commander.
